Desperate Repost ... Foster home needed!!!

Hi everyone!

I am reposting this in the hope that someone may be able to help me and my gorgeous dog Socrates out. It's a big one ... I am moving back to Australia from Boston and want desperately to take my baby with me. However, all the quarantine places in Australia are filled up for the next 5-6 months. Since I can only legally (well, legally-esque - i think i'm already over my visa limitations) stay in america for another month, I cannot wait with him. So, I am hoping to find someone out there who loves animals and is willing to foster Socrates during the time it takes to secure him a spot in quarantine.

He is a beautiful fox terrier/beagle mix, with a truly old soul and the heart of an angel. He LOVES humans, and would bring so much love and affection to you. He's nearly 5, in good health, and I would of course provide a much remuneration as I possibly could, incl his food/vet bills.

It's a big ask, I know, but I have to try and believe that there is someone out there who may be able to help me and my beloved get through this. I've had him for a year, and cannot imagine my life without him. If you are interested, or know anyone who may be, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know asap!

Hoping and loving,
Lauren and Socrates

I just found this tribe but noticed that there hasn't been any new posts for quite some time. I know there is a growing number of Pet Care Professionals out there. Where are you?

Rescued Baby Boy Rats for Sale

Hi there,
I am foster mom for 13 gentle & social baby boys. Some are ready for adoption now; the rest within a month. Various colors. All need to be neutered, except under special circumstances. I am in SF very near SF Animal Care & control, which is where all of these brothers/cousins were dropped off on Wednesday the 15th.

You may have read about the surrender elsewhere (see below). Please adopt 1 or more of my little guys! I am available for adoption visits most days, and will have photos soon; lost of grays, tans and browns; 2 hooded. $10-20 donation adoption fee, incl. neuter, through One At a Time Rescue.

FW:
Yesterday 178 rats (yes 178) were dropped off at San Francisco Animal Care and Control. They were shoved into 3 small dog crates and after hours of being sorted into cages seem to be doing much better. There are boys and girls and the majority seem to be under 7 months old. We are in desperate need of homes for these little guys. Some are quite socialized and others a bit timid due to their previous conditions. They all seem to be in remarkably good health and the vet will be checking them in the next two days. These kids will be spayed or neutered in as timely a manner as possible.

Help Beta Test DogScape – the medical and social diary for dogs

DogScape, the medical and social diary for dogs, is currently in beta test. We’re looking for web-skilled dog owners to sign up (it’s free), create profiles for their dogs, and make diary entries.

http://www.dogscape.com

DogScape lets you create a web page for your dogs with pictures and descriptions of your dogs.

You can make social diary entries, including pictures, so you can share your dog’s fun, exploits, frisking, and other social activities with friends, family, or the whole world. Track your puppy’s growth. Remember your dog’s favorite friends.

You can make medical diary entries. You can keep these entries private or share them with friends. Keep track of vet visits, medication administration (“when was the last time I gave my pooch flea meds?”), and other medical events.

Please help us beta test DogScape and make it the best place to share your dog’s life with others while keeping track of his health.

Features we're working on for pet sitters include diary entries from your cell phone (single click on phones with WAP browser) that indicate pick-up and delivery of dogs so the owners knows how well you've been taking care of their pet.

A question to dog walkers

Hi everyone,

I started walking dogs about a year and a half ago and really enjoyed having a job where I can hang out with animals.

Reciently, I started dog walking/pet sitting again and some people who inquired have said my rates were too high. These are the same rates I charged when I started and no one batted an eye about it. I have a feeling that there are so many dog walkers/pet sitters now that they are undercutting each other.

I would like to know what the people here charge and if you are experiencing the same as me when you tell people your rates.

Thanks everyone.
